Andy Beal

I have lived in Southampton for 18 years and have settled in Banister & Polygon. I am married to a primary school teacher, with two young children. I play rugby to a very mediocre standard and enjoy fishing whenever Mrs Beal allows and have enjoyed increasingly involving myself in a number of community projects in the local area.

Since becoming more involved with local politics I have been shocked and embarrassed by the behaviour of the two main parties in Southampton. They seem to have forgotten that local government is exactly that: it is about doing what is best for the local people in their respective wards.

I will adopt a rational and pragmatic approach to representing the residents of Banister and Polygon. As your councillor, policy will be shaped by the views of the residents of Banister & Polygon and Southampton. My opinions and decisions on policy will be based on its merits and potential benefits to the community regardless of the colour of the tie of the councillor proposing it.

Aimee Stokes

I have lived in Southampton for 15 years, and moved to Banister and Polygon with my young family in 2019. I support local parents as a National Childbirth Trust (NCT) volunteer and I'm a parent volunteer with a local Scout group.

I recently started a Neighbourhood Watch in my neighbourhood, where we've been challenging antisocial behaviour and fly-tipping, while bringing the community together. These are priorities I would continue to champion if elected.

I also want to make Shirley High Street even more welcoming for the local community, and call for more engaging activities for young people across the city.

Josh Smith

Most people tend to call me Josh! I'm a physics graduate of Southampton University and originally from Essex. I've lived in Southampton for over 7 years and now work full time at SUSU. Outside of work, I volunteer locally with the Scouts in a number of roles.

I'm standing in this election to help rebuild our community. We need to make our parks safe, our city clean and fix the divide between locals and students. Most importantly I want to give you a voice and way to directly shape how we represent you.

If you've got any ideas on how we can improve Southampton please do get in contact. We are here to stand up for you!

Protect Local Services

The Liberal Democrats are committed to improving our environment. We are calling for more street trees, improvements to local parks, and investment in renewable energy.

Investment in Local Facilities

The Lib Dems have successfully called for investment in the Sports Centre. Now we are pushing the council to get a move on as well as calling for improvements to facilities across the city.
