About Thomas
Thomas Gravatt is a Liberal Democrat candidate for Romsey and Southampton North. Thomas got involved in politics to fight against inequality in our society and for reform of our broken system. He has worked hard over the past decade to call for improvements across Hampshire. In May 2024, Thomas was elected as a Southampton City Councillor in Swaythling.
Thomas works as a charity fundraiser at the University of Southampton raising funds for medical research and students from disadvantaged backgrounds. He lives locally with his wife Amy who is a Doctor at Southampton General Hospital. Thomas is campaigning to improve our NHS, end sewage pollution into our rivers, and to combat the cost-of-living crisis. If elected as our MP, he will work to secure more funding for our NHS, fight against climate change, and improve Hampshire for the better.
Thomas said: “I believe that politics is about people. Politicians need to be there to help local residents when they have problems, and they need to stand up for their area, and their electorate, whether that's in Parliament or in a local council chamber. I have a strong record of working hard and delivering for residents. I pride myself on getting things done, listening to others and standing up for what is right.
"Hampshire is a fantastic place to live, but it could be so much better. We have been let down by Labour and the Conservatives for too long. Southampton and Hampshire have missed out on the investment we need, and essential services like our NHS, social care, schools and transport have been underfunded and mismanaged. It needs to stop.
“We deserve better and I will always stand up for local people. The Liberal Democrats have a positive plan for Romsey and Southampton North. We just need your support to start delivering it.”
Our politics is in incredibly turbulent times. Both Labour and the Conservatives lack vision and a clear plan for our country. Thomas Gravatt and the Liberal Democrats will keep pushing for action on the issues that matter most.
