No Fair

For the second time in a week the council has cancelled a major event with less than 24 hours notice, this time the FunFair in Riverside Park.

The council should be clear about which events will be allowed to go ahead well in advance, and if decided that the fair would not be able to go ahead safely should have cancelled it with plenty of warning.

Other councils in the area have planned ahead and been clear well in advance which events will be able to go ahead and which must be cancelled, so why is Southampton City Council making such a mess of this? The council needs to look at its upcoming events calendar and make these decisions with plenty of warning, not leave its homework till the night before.
