On Thursday 6th May 2021, the residents of Southampton have the opportunity to choose new representatives for their local area on Southampton City Council. 16 new Councillors will be selected, who will have a say over how local budgets are spent on education, transport, social care, arts and culture, housing, our high streets and more.
Southampton Liberal Democrats are standing on a broad platform to make Southampton a greener, fairer and safer City.
To find out who you can vote for in your ward, visit our City Council page. Most of our candidates have shared a personal profile there, and we are happy to pass on any messages to our candidates - just contact us here.
In addition to these issues, all of our candidates are committed to the following campaigns:
- Delivering a safe active travel network for the city, as called for by Southampton Street Space and Cycling UK.
- Tackling inequality in Southampton, as called for by the Hampshire branch of the Equality Trust.
- To do whatever we can to ensure that the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill becomes law.
- To make our built environment more sustainable, by considering the recommendations of the Green Building Council.
- Taking action locally to End Fuel Poverty.
