Bitterne Park

Southampton Itchen Constituency

Ben Curd, Nick Myers and Kathyrn Chapman are the Lib Dem candidates for Bitterne Park. They are the best choice to be your next local councillors.

We are horrified by the mismanagement of the Townhill Park regeneration scheme and the huge impact it’s had on our local community. It was first put to residents in 2011 with a promise to revitalise the local area. But years of stalling and bickering over funding between Labour and the Conservatives have left a hole in our community that will have a lasting impact.

The community has been decimated, with hundreds of residents rehomed elsewhere in the city, while only one building project has been completed. Meanwhile, Townhill Park Junior school only has half the pupils it should, so they have to cut staff numbers. We need a real plan to get the project back on track and rebuild our community.

The Liberal Democrats have a strong record of success in Southampton. This May use all three votes for the local Lib Dem team fighting hard for you.

The Liberal Democrats’ priorities for Southampton

Protect Local Services

Labour have pushed Southampton City Council to the brink of bankruptcy risking our city’s finances. The Lib Dem team are campaigning for financial responsibility to protect services.

Improve Our Environment

The Liberal Democrats are committed to improving our environment. We are calling for more street trees, improvements to local parks, and investment in renewable energy.

Investment in Local Facilities

The Lib Dems have successfully called for investment in the Sports Centre. Now we are pushing the council to invest in more facilities across Southampton - not just the city centre.
